Our Four Key Themes

The Villages Together grants are designed to help our Big Local community meet the the needs identified in our action plan, from which we have developed our Four Key Themes.

We aim to provide funding for projects that can demonstrate how they will help us meet the needs of one (or more) of these themes:

Theme 1: Improving the environment & linkages

To develop and test projects that help improve the environment / link people and places – and provide opportunities for people to actively benefit from different types of environment – for example community orchards, wildlife planting, environmental play, traffic calming measures, or projects that encourage walking, cycling, etc.

Theme 2: Community activities and events

To create and/or enhance activities that connect people and events that help us to respond to our community’s needs, such as tackling isolation and loneliness – all made much worse during Covid-19.

Theme 3: Family and community support

To work innovatively to provide a range of community activities to help support families and enable local people to access services that improve their sense of belonging, create connections, and reduce isolation.

Theme 4: Improving local facilities

To support projects that help to improve local community facilities – including village halls, sports venues, and play equipment.
