Big Local’s ‘Call To Action’!

What’s missing from life in Woolavington or Puriton?  Do you have to go to Bridgwater – or further afield – for activities and events that could be based more locally?  Is there something you’d like to see happen in our villages?

Villages Together want to help local people make a real and lasting difference, and so we are making a ‘Call to Action’; calling for any and all village residents who’d like to get involved with two of our new ‘Task & Finish Groups’ to get in touch.  Together, we will get things done!

The first group is about ‘family and community activities’, and we’d love residents from Puriton and Woolavington – especially younger and older people – to let us know about the type of activities and events that local folk want to create and take part in – and how Villages Together can support our communities to make them happen.

We are particularly keen to hear about things that might help prevent loneliness, build-up people’s confidence, or get folk outside once again – the sort of things that can help us feel that our area is an even better place to live.

The second group is Woolavington based, and will be looking at the ‘under 5’s play equipment’ in both of Woolavington’s play areas.

We want to work closely with folk who use the parks, and hope to involve key local organisations, such as the Parish Council, Flare Youth Group, the nursery, Dream Scheme, etc.  If this is something you feel passionately about, please get in touch and help us make the play parks even better.

If you’d like to take part in either or both of these groups; have your say – or find out more, please contact Jenny Manners and Jon Cousins at villagestogether@gmail.com / 07740 410 232.
